happenings of yesterday

college, or at least orientation, is turning out to be very interesting. one boring seminar after another. meals seem to come all the time here (or at least that's how it feels to me).

at dinner, we had a planned mixer w/ some of the boys from nicholson. to our surprise, we were serenaded w/ the righteous brothers' "you lost that loving feeling". wow. it was adorable in a very sad, pathetic way. do you think that it occured to them that they shouldn't be singing a song about losing feelings of love for someone. hmm. but hey, they were really nice and i got to talk to a guy who does gymnastics and is proud of it! take that!

after that, we got to go to this thing called comedy night. a campus improv group did a show which was pretty funny. then this other guy came on (i forget his name of course) who was from new york or something. apparently he has been on comedy central (tv). he was really funny, at some points he had the entire audience (all 1300 of us freshies) rolling in the aisles. although he used the guitar he had all during the act (guitar is ok but has to have some good singing to help it out), i was very impressed.
